All wealth has been redistributed at some time or another.  When you purchase an item, is it not a form of wealth redistribution on some scale?  Conflict concerning wealth redistribution usually arises from issues of how, when, and why. (Remember the questions we ask are just as important as the answers).  Wealth is gained and redistributed by trade, donation, plunder, and exploitation to name a few.  It is inherited, exchanged, forfeited, and even won.  What is often missed in the discussion is not whether wealth should be redistributed but how.  This is the foundation of the conflict concerning wealth redistribution.  Is it even possible to gain a consensus how wealth can be and should be redistributed?  What is fair?  Specifically, what does fair actually mean?  Is not the definition of fair itself as elusive as wealth itself?
